GREEN E.Th.I.Cs is looking for young artists!

The GREEN E.Th.I.Cs project is looking for 18 young visual artists to create the visual identity of the GREEN E.Th.I.Cs GAME.


What is GREEN E.Th.I.Cs ?

GREEN E.Th.I.Cs - Green Experience through Theatre Inspiring Communities is a Social and Community Theatre project winner of the Creative Europe Large Scale 2021 call and co-funded by the European Union. The project is developed by an interdisciplinary partnership of 18 organizing Partners in 12 European countries, including theater companies, universities and research centers, large cultural centers, social bodies and public institutions.


GREEN E.Th.I.Cs aims to contribute to make our society more sustainable in terms of ecology and CO2 emissions, through artistic activities, and particularly theatre, while involving citizens using the arts. The project is developed through cultural initiatives of civic engagement aimed at creating awareness on the topic of climate change and promoting critical thinking and proactivity of European citizens with respect to the European Green Deal.


HOW?

By the GREEN ETHICS GAME: an interactive theater show on environmental issues that will use the performing arts to promote critical thinking and awareness on the themes of the climate crisis. Between 2024 and 2025, the performance will tour 120 cities across Europe, reaching over 45.000 citizens.

The call for artists

Each one of the 18 partners of the GREEN E.Th.I.Cs project will select 1 young visual artists to take part to an international group of young artists that will spend 5 days in Stackarp, Sweden (March 3rd 2024 - March 7th 2024), working together with a team of senior visual artists and peer international artists in order to create the visual identity of the GREEN E.Th.I.Cs.GAME in its LIVE and BOARD GAME version.
The artist is encouraged to explore both traditional and digital mediums, provided they bring their own equipment such as computers or iPads. It's essential that the final art piece is in the form of an illustration, excluding photographs or any form of moving media.
A scholarship for each selected candidate will be provided in order to cover food, board and travel expenses.

Requisites

The candidates will be selected upon selection of:
- CV
- cover letter

The following characteristics represent a prerequisite for selection:

Age: between 18 and 26 years old young artist
Ability to speak english fluently


Artistic experience:
The artist should possess a track record of successfully completing art pieces. It is crucial for the project that the artist demonstrates the ability to see a piece through to completion. Additionally, if the artist opts to utilize digital media on a computer, they are welcome to bring their own equipment.
